How to interpret electED overviews, source material, and externally published reporting.
Source before interpretation
Records link to the original government document, filing source, or named publisher. Official titles, identifiers, dates, and reporting periods provide the context needed to check a claim.
Distinguishing facts and summaries
Selected text excerpts, automated record overviews, and AI-assisted summaries are labeled according to their source. A summary can omit exceptions and qualifications; readers should consult the full text for consequential details.
Limits of automated summaries
Automated summaries can contain mistakes and are not guaranteed to have been individually reviewed by a person. The site does not attach invented author or reviewer identities to imported records. Missing source information is a reason to state a limitation, not to fill it with an unsupported claim.
External reporting and public discussion
Headlines retain their publisher attribution and lead to the original reporting. Community posts are user contributions. Neither is relabeled as original electED reporting.
