Record overview
This Labor Day, we recognize the hard work, dedication, and unwavering commitment of the American worker. Their inspiring skill and unbreakable spirit have propelled our country forward for generations. Their strength built our cities, their genius launched and sustained our most advanced industries, and their ingenuity carried American craftsmanship to every corner of the globe. Time and again, their resilience has seen our people through hardship and has consistently brought us to even greater heights of wealth and prosperity. The American worker deserves a Government that is determined to fight for them, as they have fought for us for generations, and we are delivering. Since returning to office, my Administration has remained steadfast in its mission to empower the American worker and families by strengthening the economy, bolstering manufacturing, and unleashing innovation like never before. Last year, I proudly signed the Working Families Tax Cuts Act into law, making the largest tax cuts in American history permanent and boosting take-home pay for millions of hardworking families across our Nation. The law also makes the small business tax deduction permanent, allowing small business owners to deduct 20 percent of their qualified business income.
